Fantasy-Forever.Com - Final Fantasy X-2 Battle System - FFX-2 Final Fantasy X-2 Battle System

Final Fantasy X-2's battle system is a completely new battle system and is nothing like the other Battle systems seen on any other Final Fantasy Series.

Unlike Final Fantasy X's battle system, Final Fantasy X-2 does not have these following features, the game also uses the old EXP level up system.

Overdrives, Aeons, Overkill, The Spheregrid have all been deleted in the game.

What’s new in Final Fantasy X-2 is they include a chain attack system and Dressphere system. For example the chain attack system, when you order Paine and Rikku to attack together this will cause a chain system attack the higher the chain the damage will be higher.

For the Dressphere system you can now change to your class for example when Yuna is a gunner you can change her into a black mage allowing her to cast black magic. But of course your gunner abilities will become the black mage abilities.

Final Fantasy X-2's battle system uses the old ATB system but in a new way, for example when Yuna ATB bar fills up that means its Yuna turn to make her move, just like other Final Fantasy's except, now the ATB meter may differ in length, depending on what kind of attack or magic the character may use, lets say you order Rikku to cast Firaga, you will notice that the ATB meter turns purple and it stretches, meaning it takes longer for Rikku to cast the spell.

The change in the ATB system is far from the only change in Final Fantasy X-2, the battle's are now much more fast paced and realistic, instead of having to wait for a character to finish their moves, the characters and fiends now make their moves simultaneously, for example you can have your whole party fill up their ATB meter and launch a chain attack, the characters also don’t jump back to the position they where in, they move around the battle field stopping at where ever they see fit, they also talk to each others or to the enemy during the battle's.

Here are a few sample battle images. For more Battle images check out the Screenshots page.
