Fantasy-Forever.Com - Dark Cloud 2 Photo's Basic Info - DC 2 Photo's Basic Info

Here are the few basic and important things below that you must take note. The photo sidequest in Dark Cloud 2 plays a major role in the game, it can be really fun. Below are the few things that are important, read them to understand what photo taking is all about. You can ask me if you have any question though the contact page.

THE IDEA BOOK

When taking photos you will notice you can only hold 30 photographs at a time. To get more room you'll need to move those photos from the Idea Board to the Idea Book. To do this open up your menu and select Make. Then select New Invention. You will see all the photographs you have taken on the left. Above the actual photos will be a small blue arrow and above that will be a book. Select the arrow and press X. You will then be able to choose to move all of your photos to the idea book. After moving the photos you will be asked if you want to delete the photos you moved. Now any time you want to make an invention you can select the Idea Book and it will have a list of all the photos you have moved into it. This way you do not have to carry around the actual photos to make an invention.

PHOTOGRAPHS NEEDED TO RECRUIT CHARACTERS

While you will move most of your photographs to your idea book and then delete them, there are two photos you will need to keep and actual photo of for a while. You will need to keep a photograph of The Moon to show to Rufio to recruit him and a photo of the Lafreccia Stem to show to Claire to recruit her. Once you have recruited both of them you can delete the photos.

DONNY'S PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZES

Donny will give you prizes every time your photography level goes up. Your photography level will rise every time you get 100 photography points. To gain photography points you need to take pictures. Each normal photo is worth 2 points and each scoop is worth 5 points. The prizes that Donny gives you are:

Level 2 (100 points) Diamond
Level 3 (200 points) Explorer Cap
Level 4 (300 points) Steal Coin
Level 5 (400 points) Explorer Boots
Level 6 (500 points) Explorer Outfit
Level 7 (600 points) Moon Badge (let's you stay transformed as a Monster longer)
Level 8 (700 points) Sun Badge (raises you're monsters attack and defense power)

To see you're photography level and the amount of points you have, take out your camera and press square like you where going to take a picture. Then press triangle. You can miss a few photos and still get the Level 8 prize from Donny since if you take every photo you will end up with 750 points.

THE PHOTO ALBUM

The photo album can be found in Palm Brinks in Max's House inside Max's room on his desk (Chapter 2). Once you have the photo album you can save actual photos to a separate save on your memory card. If let say someone else, your friend also have a photo album save on his memory card you can use his photo too.

Why should you save photos in your Photo Album? Because you can load the photo album and use the photos you have saved in it each time you play through the game as long as you have picked up the photo album. This means that you can have photo ideas very early in the game to make inventions with that you normally couldn't.

For example you could save the photos: candle, fire house and relaxation fountain and be able to make the Jet Hover for your Ridepod before Chapter 7 where you would normally get the photo of the relaxation fountain. The only downside to saving photos is that when you move the photo from the photo album to your idea board you do not receive the photography points for that photo. You will have to actually take the photograph of the idea to receive points for it.
